Carbon Nation

“Carbon Nation is a documentary movie about climate change SOLUTIONS. Even if you doubt the severity of the impact of climate change or just don’t buy it at all, this is still a compelling and relevant film that illustrates how SOLUTIONS to climate change also address other social, economic and national security issues. You’ll meet a host of entertaining and endearing characters along the way.” ~ Official Website.

Legend of the Iron Seahorse

There once was a gal – a cowgirl surfer, to be exact, named Leah Dawson. She believed people can do anything. And she had a nasty obsession with the Legend of The Iron Sea Horse. As the tale goes, there existed a Shangri-la oasis right smack dab in the middle of America’s plains. It only revealed itself to that contrarian kinda character who truly believes that anything’s possible. A handful of brave explorers had passed through over the years never to be seen again, but she didn’t care. She trekked by foot, by horseback. Heck, even by surfboard. She had a vision. Always searching. And her belief in the indomitable human spirit might bring her to ruin. Or…to a surfer’s paradise.

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (2001)
Mar 2 @ 7:30 pm

Friday, March 2nd

Doors at 7:30 PM.

Movie at 8:00 PM.

Film is $5.

Rated R.

Set in the late 21st century, it jumps into the series’ story line just prior to its conclusion, with the bounty hunting crew of the interstellar craft Bebop chasing a hacker aboard a tanker into a major city on Mars. As crew member Faye Valentine closes in on the tanker, she witnesses its catastrophic explosion, which soon appears to be a viral terrorist attack as the death toll continues to mount in the days following. Furthermore, Faye caught a glipse of the person responsible for the blast and is thus the only surviving witness to the crime. After the government puts out a large bounty for the perpetrator’s capture, the Bebop gang – slacker Spike Spiegel, former policeman Jet Black and hacker girl genius Edward – begin their own hunt for the mass murderer. Vincent Volaju was the lone survivor of a governmental medical test and now seeks revenge. The Bebop crew must scramble to prevent Vincent from carrying out his plan.

X the Unknown
British Army radiation drills at a remote Scottish base attract a subterranean, radioactive entity of unknown nature that vanishes, leaving two severely radiation-burned soldiers… and a “bottomless” crack in the earth. Others who meet the thing in the night suffer likewise, and with increasing severity; it seems to be able to “absorb” radiation from any source, growing bigger and bigger. What is it?? How do you destroy a thing that “feeds” on energy? ~ IMDB.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how to best navigate a new city, house and school.
