A Plastic Ocean Scientists Solving a Jigsaw Puzzle…Gyre by Gyre If it was happening in one gyre, they suspected it was happening in all of them. But the filmmakers needed experts to prove it. Scientists were brought in at each stage to analyze the findings from one part of the story to add their data to the overall report on the five gyres. In the center of the Pacific Ocean gyre our researchers found more plastic than plankton. A Plastic Ocean documents the newest science, proving how plastics, once they enter the oceans, break up into small particulates that enter the food chain where they attract toxins like a magnet. These toxins are stored in seafood’s fatty tissues, and eventually consumed by us. Producer Jo Ruxton joined an expedition to the so-called Great Pacific Garbage Patch in the North Pacific Gyre, 1500 miles off the coast of San Francisco, to ascertain its impact.[...]

The Shining (1980)
Friday, Oct. 12th Doors at 7:30 PM. Movie at 8:00 PM. 146 min. Rated R $5 With wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and psychic son Danny (Danny Lloyd) in tow, frustrated writer Jack Torrence (Jack Nicholson) takes a job as the winter caretaker at the opulently ominous, mountain-locked Overlook Hotel so that he can write in peace. Before the Overlook is vacated for the Torrances, the manager informs Jack that a previous caretaker went crazy and slaughtered his faimly. Jack doesn’t think it’s a problem but Danny’s “shining” hints otherwise. Settling into their routine, Danny cruises through the empty corridors on his Big Wheel, while Jack sets up shop in a cavernous lounge with strict orders not to be disturbed. Danny’s alter ego “Tony” starts warning of “redrum” as Danny is plagued by blood soaked visions of the past. Frightened by her husband’s behavior and Danny’s visit to room 237, Wendy soon discovers what Jack has really been doing in his study all day, and what the hotel has done to Jack.

Ott has been messing about with sound boxes every day for as long as he can remember. Having spent the ‘90s flitting between his day-job as a freelance studio engineer and long weekends under the stars at psychedelic trance parties, the obvious next step, as the millennium turned, was to create music of his own from the jumble of sounds which filled his head. After teaming up with Twisted Records, 2002 saw the release of the acclaimed ‘Hallucinogen In Dub’ album, followed in short order by his first solo effort, ‘Blumenkraft’in 2003. 2008 saw the release of ‘Skylon’ and in 2011 the album ‘Mir’ was born. A pattern has formed: every four years or so an album coalesces from the chaos, heads out into the world and takes on a life of its own. ‘Fairchild’ was released in 2015, and fall 2018 will see the release of his heavily anticipated fifth studio album. One day she was walking around the block when she heard a boombox play hip hop. She started dancing and yelling YAAAAY but fell over and landed in a pile of dancehall-reggae. Reggae covered her eyes and face when she meandered into a basement playing drum and bass. This music made her dance and shake her back until she thought she’d have a heart attack. Then an unknown mysteriously deep bass sound led her into a secret room where dubstep was abound. Deciding she’d already fallen in love with enough musics in this one day, she finally went home and had dreams of getting thizz faced and riding the whip with Mac Dre. Those of you that were around the sound system scene in the eighties will remember the slightly extrovert mic man that ‘Jah Tubby’s’ had; that was Aba. When Joe embraced the Rastafarian faith he adopted a new and more positive attitude and with his rediscovered faith a new name. That name was and is ‘Aba Shanti-I’,pronounced ABA SHANTI-EYE not ONE.
