The Arcata Theatre Lounge is a 1938 Art Deco Cinema that has been reborn as an entertainment venue offering the best in live music, movies, dining, dancing as well as private events. Inside the beautifully historic building, known fondly by locals as the ATL, we house a casual, fun and unique array of entertainment.
Voted by North Coast Journal readers as the Best Humboldt County Music Venue for four years straight.
At the ATL you can enjoy live music, films and other events while delighting in our full bar and menu which are open for every event.
Movies: Seating for movies is not your typical fixed cinema seating, instead we have dinner style seating with tables and chairs. This allows our guests to kick back and enjoy a full meal while they watch the show. Arcata theatre Lounge has one of the largest cinema screens in Northern California. Tickets for the majority of our movies are $5, are open to all ages and typically start in the early evening. We feature the best of second run favorites and iconic cult movies. We strive to create a fun and sociable atmosphere for our guests.
Music/concerts: For music events the ATL transforms into a concert hall with plenty of room to dance and still be able to see your favorite music artist up on the stage. Most of our concerts are 21years and up, however we do occasionally have all ages music shows. Concerts typically start around 9 p.m. and end between 12:00 and 1:30 a.m. Pricing for these shows varies depending on the performer and often range from $6 to $40. Seating for concerts is always general seating. Concerts may be fully seated or partially seated depending on the genre of music. We have hosted shows for many top name artists. To name just a few: Alborosie, Anthony B, Balkin Beat Box, Bassnectar, Beats Antique, BoomBox, Bruce Cockburn, Eoto, Greensky Bluegrass, Immortal Technique, Keller Williams, Leftover Salmon, Mickey Hart, Railroad Earth, Rising Appalachia, Rhythm Devils, Shpongle, Stephen Marley and Zion I.
Weekly/monthly events: Along with music and movies, we have our weekly and monthly events. These include Ocean Night Movies, Sci-Fi Pint & Fry Night, our favorite local comedy crew On The Spot as well as sports events such as the Superbowl and NBA Finals.
Food & Beverage: We offer a full pub style menu during most of our events with a simplified menu during concerts. Our menu also includes customary cinema goodies like soda, popcorn and candy, as well as house made baked goods. Our kitchen is open at the start of each event and typically closes 30 minutes before the end of the event. We have a full bar, featuring delicious seasonal house cocktails as well as a selection of wine and champagne. ATL has 13 beers both local and imported as well as hard cider and locally made Its Alive Kombucha, all on tap.
