Alfred Hitchcock already heralded as the master of suspence, changed the world of thriller films with his 1960 classic, Psycho. Meet Marion Crane (Janet Leigh), a Phoenix based real estate office worker who is growing fed up with the way things in her life are going. One day Marion recieves fourty-thousand dollars in cash to be deposited, but when impulse takes over Marion decides to vanish with the cash and start a new life away from Arizona and her now ex-boyfriend Sam Loomis (John Gavin). A few days later, naturally, the paranoia begins to sets in so Marion decides to stop at the Bates Motel for the night to rest where she mets the nervous, but personable innkeeper Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) who lives with with his invalid mother in the big, old house on the hill overlooking the motel. That evening, Marion has a change of heart and contemplates returning to Phoenix to return the money. But she never makes it either to Phoenix or Fairvale.
